The Colquitt County girls and boys tennis teams rebounded from Monday losses to Tift County and swept their matches against Lowndes and Valdosta middle schools on Tuesday at McKey Park in Valdosta.

The middle school Lady Packers beat Lowndes 5-0.

Caris Ruis played No. 1 singles and lost the first set 3-6, but bounced back to win the second 6-3 and then took the tiebreak 10-6.

Emma Kate Whatley won at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3 and Laura Lee Murphy won at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2.

At No. 1 doubles, Beylee Roberts and Amanda Hosey won 6-2, 6-2, and at No. 2 doubles Mary Grace Watson and Sydney Wheeler also won 6-2, 6-2.

The Lady Packers defeated Valdosta Middle School 4-1.

Murphy played No. 1 singles and won 4-6, 7-6, 10-5. Wheeler played No. 2 singles and won 6-2, 6-2. Hosey lost at No. 3 singles 5-7, 4-6.

Ruis and Roberts played No. 1 doubles and won 6-2, 6-3. Watson and Whatley won at No. 2, 6-2, 6-2.

The middle school boys won both of their matches 5-0.

Against Lowndes, Kevin Johnson played No. 1 singles and won 6-2, 6-3; Alyn Herndon won at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-2; and Christopher Rogers won at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8.

At No. 1 doubles, Hayden Holloway and Nathan Corley won 6-3, 6-3, and at No. 2 doubles, John Herndon and J.D. Rice won 6-2, 6-4.

Against Valdosta, Johnson won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2; Rogers played No. 2 singles and won by forfeit; and Alyn Herndon played No. 3 singles and won 6-2, 6-2.

Rice and John Herndon played No. 1 doubles and took a 6-2, 6-2 decision. Lucas Tostenson and Albert Stringer played No. 2 doubles and won 6-2, 6-2.

The middle school teams will play at Thomas County on Thursday.
