Four Moss Farms divers have advanced to USA Diving’s Junior East National Championships after qualifying at the Region 7 Championships held last weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The East Championships will be held April 13-15 in Rockville, Md.

Elizabeth Ann Kirkland finished fifth on 1-meter and sixth on 3-meter to qualify for the East Championships, but will not be able to attend.

Diving in the girls 16-18 age group, Kirkland scored a 369.55 on 1-meter to finish 65.95 points first-place Wallace Layland of Orlando, Fla.’s YCF Diving.

Kirkland was sixth on 3-meter with a 376.70. The event was won by Carolyn Chaney of the Boca Diving Team of Boca Raton, Fla.

Ashley Roberson of Moss Farms also qualified in the 16-18 girls age group, finishing fifth on 3-meter with a 377.80. She also was 10th on 1-meter with a 334.50.

Parker Hardigree qualified to travel to Maryland in the 12-13 boys age group.

Hardigree was first on 1-meter with a 287.90, finishing 13.30 points ahead of the Fort Lauderdale Diving Team’s Devin Nugent.

Hardigree was the runner-up on the 3-meter springboard with a 288.80. Zachary Allen of the Fort Lauderdale Diving Team was first.

Also representing Moss Farms in Rockville will be Timothy Fagan, who competed in the 11-and-under boys age group.

Fagan was fourth on 1-meter, finishing 24.60 points behind the winner, Tyler Coffey of Jupiter, Fla.’s 3D Diving.

He also was fourth on 3-meter with a 114.75. Kevin Mendez of Pine Crest Diving of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was first.

Haley Goodman also competed for Moss Farms in the girls 16-18 1-meter event.
