MOULTRIE -- The Colquitt County ninth-grade boys basketball team fell to 0-2 with a 48-40 loss to Bainbridge on Saturday in Bainbridge.

The freshmen Packers were led by Duke Banks, who had 11 points.

Charles Tolbert added eight; D.Otis Hill followed with seven; Vance Cuff had five; Danny Hunt had four; Nolan Whyte, Larry Anderson and Michael Payton each had two; and Marcus Stancil had a free throw.

Colquitt hit just 11-of-20 free throws in the eight-point loss.

The freshmen Packers traveled to Tift County on Monday to meet the Blue Devils. The team will play its first home game at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Espy Gymnasium against Worth County.
