LEE COUNTY — The “mercy rule” was applied Monday, giving Moultrie’s Recreation Department fast pitch senior girls a victory over Lee County in the fourth inning.
The Lady Pack finished off Lee County 13-1 in the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) District III Senior Girls Fast Pitch Softball Tournament, hosted by the Lee County Rec. Department.
The team scored one run in the first inning; five runs in the bottom of the second; and six in the bottom of the third. Brooke Hood singled home Hannah Hancock in the fourth to end the game.
During the game, Meagan May went three for three and Jordan Taylor, Anna Laura Beason and Hood each scored two runs.
Pitcher Christy Harper was on the mound the entire game and only gave up the one run scored by Lee County in the second inning of the game.
The senior girl’s team will be back in Lee County tonight to play Bainbridge, which barely won over Grady County 4-3.
The Lady Pack will advance to the championship series on Thursday if they defeat Bainbridge.
This GRPA tournament, which started on Monday, will run through Saturday.
