MOULTRIE — The Moultrie Sharks took a small contingent to last weekend’s Liberty YMCA Invitational in Hinesville, but there were some solid performances.

The meet also drew teams from Hinesville, Waycross, Douglas and St. Simons.

Caroline Rogers competed in just one event, but took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:21.70.

Hunter Cross finished second in the seven-swimmer 11-12 boys age group with three second- and two third-place finishes.

His second-place finishes came in the 100-yard freestyle, with a 1:17.30; the 100-yard backstroke, 1:39.72; and the 50-yard butterfly, 42.15.

Cross also was third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:41.87 and in the 100-yard individual medley with a 1:31.02.

Nicholas Cordista, competing in the 9-10 boys age group, was first in the 25-yard freestyle, with a 17.16 and in the 25-yard breaststroke with a 24.12. He was second in the 100-yard individual medley, with a 1:51.68; in the 25-yard backstroke, with a 24.44; and in the 50-yard butterfly, with a 58.99.

Competing in girls 15-and-over, Ashlee Paramore had five runner-up finishes in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:12.62; the 100-yard breaststroke, 1:49.62’ the 200-yard individual medley, 3:34.13; the 100-yard backstroke, 1:333.21; and the 100-yard butterfly, 1:32.24.

Tori Cordista was seventh in the 7-8 girls age group and had a third-place finish in the 25-yard freestyle with a 22.49.

She also was seventh in the 100-yard individual medley and the 25-yard backstroke; was eighth in the 25-yard butterfly; and was ninth in the 25-yard breaststroke.
