MOULTRIE – VFW kept its Pony League record perfect on Thursday with a 13-1 victory over Southwest Georgia Bank at the Magnolia Sports Complex.

Russ DeMott was the winning pitcher and joined Ryan Sherling, Caleb Norman, Jonathan Cauthen and Tyler Powell in contributing two hits each to the win that raised the team’s record to 5-0. Southwest Georgia Bank falls to 0-5.

In Thursday’s other Pony League game, Clements Pools defeated Quality Employment 16-5.

Daylon Connell was the winning pitcher and had three hits for Clements, now 4-1. Jose Alvarado had two for Quality Employment 1-4.

Southwest Georgia Bank remained unbeaten in the Midget League after its 12-2 victory over Quality Employment on Thursday.

Vann Pitts got the win on the mound and was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk. Tyroni Walker also had three hits and Matthew Creech, Tyler Yost, Coleman Neal, Austin Vines and Tanner Strickland each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance, now 5-0.

Quality Employment is now 1-5.

In Thursday’s other Midget League game, Mobley Plant defeated Ameris 4-3.

Aubrey McCarty was the winning pitcher and Kyle Tolbert had two hits for Mobley Plant, which raised its record to 2-3. Matthew Gerald and Artrievous Palmore each had two for Ameris, now 0-5.

Ross Goforth had four hits and Eli Stripling, Ryan Clifton and Austin Kinard each had three as McAlpin Signs won its Farm League game against Rocky’s 13-7 on Thursday.

Timothy Clay had two hits for McAlpin Signs, now 3-3. Tony Simpson had three and Hunter Lott and Zane Hembree each had two for Rocky’s 2-4.

Zaxby’s raised its Farm League record to 4-2 when it edged Ameris 7-6 on Thursday.

Tyler Key, Perry Wiard and Jonah Bozeman each had two hits for Zaxby’s. Will Roberts and Elijah Gomez had three hits and Lane Carroll had two for Ameris, now 0-6.

Also on Thursday, Farm Bureau erupted offensively and pounded Random Design 19-3 to even its Farm League record.

Jay Tolbert and Nick Nichols each had three hits and Brandon Chafin, Wade Hawes and Hart Sumner each had two for Farm Bureau, 3-3.

Random Design is 0-6.

In Thursday’s Tiny Mites action, Baell Mercantile defeated Pizza Inn 11-7, and Rocky’s defeated Mprints 23-8.
