MOULTRIE -- The Yellow Jackets defeated the Mavericks 29-17 on Thursday to remain unbeaten in the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department's 12-and-under basketball league.
Aubrey Reed led the 3-0 Yellow Jackets with 10 points. LeJerin Peacock added eight, Davis Durham had five, Ryan Sherling had four and Dillon Underwood added two.
The Mavericks, who fall to 0-3, were led by Ryan Davis, who had nine points. Joshua Hoes had four and Jackson Wells and Jerry Evers each had two points.
In Thursday's other game, the Sharp Shooters defeated the Hawgs 27-22.
Five players scored for the Sharp Shooters, including Quantrell Stokes, who led his team with eight points.
Jamari Grier added six, Amel Magwood had five and Cameron Erving and Derrell Ward each had four.
The Hawgs' Cole Pitts was the game's high scorer with 10 points, including six on a pair of second-half 3-pointers.
Thomas Brown added seven, Corey Hancock had three and Kris Bailey chipped in two for the Hawgs, who fall to 1-2.
Alex Daniels scored eight of his team-high 10 points in the second half as the 9-10 Bulls broke a 14-14 halftime tie to beat the Hornets 26-24.
Jameil Melvin had nine, Trey Scott five and John Peterson two for the Bulls, now 2-1.
Deryan Arnold had a game-high 13 points for the Hornets, who fall to 2-1. Xavier Ward had four, Dillon Presley and Jonathan Edwards each had three and Rashard Sharp added a free throw for the Hornets.
In Thursday's other 9-10 game, the Packers defeated the Noles 20-15.
Stacey Blackwell led the Packers, now 2-1, with nine points. Davis Edwards added six, Tommy Hudson had four and Anthony Brumbley had a free throw.
The Noles' Tre DeBruce led all scorers with 13 points. Jeffrey Worth had two and Kaine Williams a free throw for the Noles, who fall to 0-3.
Last Tuesday's games were postponed until Monday. Games also are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday.
